Journeys by Sail
Sailing by the Isle of Staffa and Fingal's Cave
For 2010 we're introducing sailing adventures on Scotland's stunning west coast. Widely regarded as one of the top cruising grounds in the world, the area offers the opportunity to combine cruising with a host of other activities such as whale-spotting, photography and, of course, walking.
Our sailing adventures are based on board the 42ft yacht K-Vector 3, built by X-Yachts for fast and safe cruising in all conditions. K-Vector, as she is usually known, is operated skippered by John Nelson, a yachtmaster and sailing instructor. Although built to accomodate 8 people, we'll take a maximum of 6, including crew, on all voyages to ensure plenty of space for all and an extremely attentive level of service.
K-Vector III
K-Vector's summer home is at the beautiful anchorage at Badachro on Loch Gairloch, from where most of our adventures begin after travelling from our meeting point in Inverness. It's an ideal place to begin the exploration of the Inner and Outer Hebrides and beyond.
All our sailing adventures include:
- Accommodation on board K-Vector for the duration of your holiday
- Use of sailing waterproofs (jacket & salopettes), wellingtons and life jacket
- Three meals per day with soft drinks
- Services of fully qualified skipper and walking guide
- Free transport between Inverness and Badachro (although you can join at Badachro if you wish).

Badachro
Whilst on board, you'll be given the opportunity to assist in crewing the yacht and perhaps picking up some sailing skills as you go. The exact route followed during your trip will be discussed prior to leaving Badachro but will be influenced primarily by the wishes of the guests, but also by weather and other sailing factors.
Whatever you wish to gain from your voyage, we'll do our utmost to ensure that your aims are achieved; with a maximum of four guests on board, we have that flexibility.
As well as our planned trips, we can also put together a bespoke package to fit your requirements. So if you have your own destinations in mind, or wish to go for a longer or shorter voyage, please give us a call to discuss your requirements.
