Osprey Adventures

This is an excellent opportunity to explore the rugged West Highlands as well as many of the neighbouring islands such as Rona, Raasay, the Small Isles and, conditions permitting, the Outer Hebrides. 

Each day we’ll move to a new location and explore by foot for a few hours.  Travelling by sea, we’ll have the opportunity to moor in isolated bays and walk where very few people get to go.  There will be opportunities during the journey for whale-watching, observing bird life and perhaps spotting otters on the shore and incredible photo-opportunities will be all around.

Sample Itinerary:

Sat       Meet in Inverness.  Travel to Badachro.  Evening sail to Raasay.

Sun      Explore Raasay on foot in the morning.  After lunch sail to Loch Alsh for the night.

Mon     An early start gets us to Kyle Rhea where, if we’re lucky, we can spot otters on the shore. Then it’s on to the Knoydart peninsula where we can explore the rough bounds for a few hours.

Tue      Morning sail across to Rum keeping our eyes peeled for any signs of the whales which migrate through the area in Spring and Summer.  In the afternoon and evening we explore this magnificent island, the whole of which is a national nature reserve.

Wed     Today we get to explore around Duirinish on Skye, perhaps walking round MacLeod’s Tables which offer views to Uist and Harris

Thur     A morning sail sees us on the Trotternish peninsula.  An evening sail brings us to the island of Rona where we moor.

Fri        An early morning exploration of Rona provides our final walking opportunity. From there we sail back to Badachro for our last dinner on board followed by a visit to the local inn.

Sat       Morning return to Inverness

The actual itinerary will be chosen by the clients, with advice from the crew, after considering other factors such as weather, tides, etc.  You’ll have the opportunity to help with crewing the yacht (as much or as little as you wish) although you’ll be expected to help out with some domestic tasks.
